'They' say 'Image' is everything and they may be right, but I say Image has led many a woman into a fatal trap, by falling for a pretty face, and made many a man pass up a great woman.
Image has deceived a girl into disdaining the man of her dreams because at first sight, he looked more like a nightmare than a dream.
Image deceived Woman into eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil because the fruit looked 'good'.
Image made King Saul the people's choice, and almost disqualified David from being King except for the hand of God.
Image paints a picture of what should be, but like of every masterpiece there are many a fake out there.
Image is the joker's face superimposed over a bleeding heart.
Image, Image, Image - the façade of society, the bane of the superficial.
So what is the answer? Disdaining the image? No, not at all!
The answer lies in coming to the realization that image is just that – An Image! It must be poked and prodded, tried and tested, examined in the light of day and through the filtering lenses of eyes of wisdom, and authenticated. It must be verified as the true likeness of the original, lest one be caught in a parody of broken dreams.
So today whatever the image comes across your path, don’t just appropriate it, give it a second look, and a third before you capture the image…
