I am sure we have all played this game at one point in time or the other in which we are presented with two pictures (usually in a magazine) that are seemingly identical at first glance, but with which we have to spot differences that distinguish them. Some of the differences in those instances were usually easy to place, but a few would defy Discovery except by the extremely astute observer. The amazing thing about these games was that except for the fact that the question was raised as to the point as to whether the two images were identical or not, one maybe very well prone to assume that the two images were identical.  And even if they were identical, the suggestion that they were not would make one or look for differences where there were actually none.

The same scenario is much the same for the believer when it comes to distinguishing what is of God and what is not, especially in the arena of spiritual warfare. The stumbling block for most of we Christians is the fact that we think that the enemy comes full frontal attack, but that is not so! Satan’s job is twofold:

1) To present the illusion of seeming identicalness except for the discerning, and

2) To actually question the validity of sameness or when, in fact, the images are indeed identical.

The aim of the first method is to introduce uncertainty in the face of ignorance and that of the second is aimed at undermining certainty when knowledge is present, the second method being more astutely deadly than the first.



The first method succeeded with woman and caused the downfall of the first Adam, but hallelujah he failed woefully when he tried the second method on the second Adam and he was defeated with the Word.

 
The first method satan will usually use to create doubt in the mind of the ignorant of the word of God, and the second to attack one's confidence in what one knows of the Word.

 

The first method seeks an answer to the question, (Has God said?), the second seeks to question the answer (if you are the son of God…).


The modus operandi that the devil uses to achieve his goal is that of pure (or rather impure) SUBTLETY…

 
Genesis 3:1
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?


Now the word subtle is a very interesting word it means:

 sub·tle  (sŭt′l)

adj. sub·tler, sub·tlest

So slight as to be difficult to detect or describe; elusive… And sub·tle·ty is the quality or state of being subtle.


…But God gave us the low-dawn on his methods because he does not want us to be ignorant of the devices of the devil:

  2 Corinthians 2:11

Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

GOD HAS CRACKED THE CODE FOR US!

 So what does all this mean for the believer?  It means that we should be sober, that we should be vigilant, that we should be knowledgeable about the WORD so much so that when an attempt to introduce doubt arises, we can say, ”It is written”. It means that we should trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding, because the devil can run circles around our own understanding, as he did around woman’s understanding. It means that we should not conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds, so that we may rightly divide the Word of truth, so that it becomes a two-edged sword in our hands – Quick and powerful as The Lord intended it to be.  It means that we must be aware that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, and that fighting and wounding each other instead of the real enemy of our souls is not the order of the day. It means that we should gird our loins with the girdle of truth. It means that we should fully understand that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God, so much so that This book of The Law does not depart from our mouth, but we meditate in it day and night that we may observe to do according to all that is written therein, for by this, we make our way prosperous and we have good success!

The senses do not and cannot prevail against the wiles of satan, but we overcome by The blood of The lamb and by the word of our TESTIMONY and only the Word by His Spirit, can empower us to spot the difference…
