I was scrolling down my timeline on Facebook and I saw a picture with the caption
"back in the day". This caption brought back memories of a lie that I had believed for many years.
I do not have a lot of "back in the day" pictures because I had been convinced and had believe the lie that my face was so ugly, that it did not deserve to grace celluloid or any photograph. One day however, after one of my personal picture bashing sessions, The Lord made me stand in front of the mirror, and He proceeded to tell me how beautiful I was, that He had created me just the way I was, fearfully and wonderfully. He taught me that avoiding taking pictures would result in my not being able to document the stages of my life, the events that were important to me, and images of the people I love and those who have crossed my path.
I made a decision that day that ugly or not, beautiful or yes, I would never shy away from documenting my life in pictures (as my friends will tell you :-)) because 30 years from now by God's grace I would also be able to post a picture captioned "back in the day"!
Many of us still believe this lie today, and I do so tell you with absolute conviction, IT IS A LIE! You are beautiful, fabulous, fearfully and wonderfully made, AND THAT'S MY FINAL ANSWER!
So strike a pose, smile, camera, lights, action! I see you and you look just like the amazing person God created you to be.
If you look in the right mirror, you will see yourself 'just as you are':
◄ 2 Corinthians 3:18 ►
... Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Have a great Sunday and be blessed in the Lord!
